When asked if Liverpool could win the Premier League though, Kovacic cheekily responded that we wouldn’t because Lovren plays for us – according to 24sata – which reportedly brought the house down among journalists.
It’s important to note this was very lighthearted and not as disrespectful as it originally seems!
Lovren is a popular member of the Croatia squad and likes a joke as much as anybody – although he occasionally comes across a little serious in post-match interviews when his back is up.
