We thought the news broken by Turkish outlet Ajanspor yesterday that Liverpool had shaken hands on a secret deal to sign Abdülkadir Ömür from Tranzonspor this summer was a little fishy…
And we were right to be skeptical, according to James Pearce of the Echo, who suggests their article is bogus.

Pearce says no deal has been agreed and Liverpool are not even interested in the 19-year-old playmaker, who’s been dubbed ‘The Turkish Messi’ in his homeland.
We are likely to purchase a new offensive midfielder in the summer; someone capable of playing in any of the three positions behind the forward – but our sources suggest it’ll be someone ready to immediately step into the first-team – rather than a youngster with potential.
As a result, the prospective new signing will cost a lot more than the mooted €20m it was rumoured to require to bring Ömür to Anfield.
Time will tell who that is, but for now, we’ve got a Premier League title to try and win!
