Picking an XI to beat Bournemouth: Who Klopp could pick on Saturday

Posted by

Liverpool need a win on Saturday, having picked up consecutive draws versus Leicester and West Ham.

Thankfully, we’re going to have our right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold fit and available for the first time since the Brighton game at the beginning of the month.

His absence has affected us greatly, with James Milner and Jordan Henderson trying valiantly, but ultimately failing to produce his composure and athleticism up the right flank.

Dejan Lovren is expected fit again, which would potentially mean Joel Matip dropping to the bench and the Croat starting alongside Virgil van Dijk.

Despite their shaky form, Alisson and Andy Robertson are automatic picks.

In midfield, Gini Wijnaldum is unlikely to win his fitness battle and is sadly unlikely to play at Anfield.

Captain Jordan Henderson is closer to returning though – and we can see him lining up alongside Fabinho and Naby Keita in a central trio – behind Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

The other option would be dropping Keita and fielding Xherdan Shaqiri on the right, with Firmino at no.10 and Mane on the left, with Salah up top, in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

How would you go, Reds?

Our XI, injuries permitting: Alisson; Trent, Robbo, VVD, Lovren; Henderson, Fabinho, Keita; Mane, Salah, Firmino
