Virgil van Dijk has STILL yet to be dribbled past in the Premier League or the Champions League this season!
Considering he’s been ever-present in both competitions, this is pretty incredible.
The stat was tweeted by @LFCData last night:
Virgil van Dijk has not been dribbled past by any player in the Premier League & Champions League this season.
It’s February. 🤭

Van Dijk has been Liverpool’s Player of the Season so far, although his level, and the level of his defensive team-mates, has arguably slightly dropped since the turn of the calendar year.
We’re not blaming him for this; he’s been unwell and has lost four kilos as a result in January – while maintaining a high level – but we simply don’t look as defensively solid as in December.
The lack of a proper right-back in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s absence has played a big part, as has the continued injury to Joe Gomez and the fact Dejan Lovren has rarely been fit enough to start as well.
Van Dijk has even had to play alongside Fabinho at the back, with the Brazilian deputising one week when all of the Dutchman’s potential partners were crocked.
What’s clear is the team needs a confidence boost – probably in the form of a win and a clean-sheet.
Bournemouth this Saturday would be the perfect place to start…
