Trent Alexander-Arnold showed Liverpool what they had been missing on Sunday as he assisted Sadio Mane for the opening goal against Watford.
The right-back produced a typically-sublime cross from the right-hand side to find Mane, who beat Ben Foster with a powerful header from between the visitors’ centre-backs.
Liverpool were desperately short of quality in the final third in the 0-0 draw against Manchester United, with James Milner having been favoured as a make-shift full-back in place of Alexander-Arnold at Old Trafford.
Mane’s goal marked the perfect start at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp’s side seek to maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League.
