‘It’s time…’ Delighted Reds react to Klopp’s surprise midfield selection

Jurgen Klopp’s team went down very well on Twitter this evening, with a win needed at Southampton to retake our spot at the top of the Premier League table.

The German went with Fabinho in holding midfield, with Naby Keita and Gini Wijnaldum either side – when most expected the Guinean to be on the bench.

Klopp’s comments hint at Liverpool’s long-term Naby Keita plans…

Keita hasn’t started a game in the Premier League since our 3-0 victory over Bournemouth back in February, with injuries again derailing his progress.

In all honesty, it’s been a season to forget on an individual basis for the £50m midfielder, but the fact he’s starting tonight shows Klopp is willing to put trust in the 24-year-old during our title run-in.

Elsewhere, the team is as expected, with Trent and Robbo at fullback, Matip partnering van Dijk – and the usual front-three up top.
