Belgian outlet La Derniere Heure, as referenced by football journalist Manuel Veth in the tweets below, are suggesting that Liverpool have out bid Borussia Dortmund for Thorgan Hazard, the younger brother of Eden.

Weird omens begin to circle web about Liverpool’s season…

They claim though that the player has already given his word to BVB, and despite Borussia Monchengladbach, Hazard’s club, preferring to sell to us – it is as of yet not on the player’s radar.

Interestingly, and perhaps fairly, they state the lack of potential playing time as the primary reason for Hazard’s decision.

We believe this transfer story is genuine. La Derniere Heure is a respected source and importantly, our interest makes 100% sense.

Hazard can play on the right or the left a front-three – and has nine goals and nine assists in the Bundesliga this season.

His versatility and ability to play in multiple positions along our frontline, along with his impressive output, makes him the ideal backup for Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino next season.

However, his concern about not being a starter could well be true, too. At 26-years-old, he can’t be making a switch to a club where he definitely won’t be first-choice – and we can almost say in certainty that he won’t.

The fact we’re after a player of his description though is very exciting and proves we are looking to bolster the attack ahead of 2019/20.
