Barcelona have stuck a £94m price-tag on the head of monstrously talented winger Ousmane Dembele, reports Spanish outlet AS.
The 22-year-old has never been able to cement an automatic starting spot under the tutelage of Barca boss Ernesto Valverde, who has struggled to deal with Dembele’s lack of discipline or maturity.
Jurgen Klopp is a very well known admirer of the France international, having previously met with him in Rennes before the player signed for Borussia Dortmund. Last summer, Liverpool’s manager hinted about wanting to buy Dembele during a conference [Express], but nothing came of it.
Bleacher Report claim that Liverpool owner JW Henry has promised to back Klopp with whatever transfer funds he requires this summer, but interestingly, that the German is happy with his current options.
There will be fans who find this opportunity for us to improve further frustrating, especially if Klopp is refusing to spend money, but the boss has undeniably earned our trust.
We have Rhian Brewster to come in and compete for minutes; as well as a fit again Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and a settled Naby Keita.
The only positions that 100% need attention is left-back and right-back, with no suitable replacement options for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson right now – but no concrete names have yet been linked.
