Danny Mills has now chimed in on the frankly absurd Kylian Mbappé rumours, claiming the Frenchman would have a £200 million price tag as he said the Reds could spend elsewhere this transfer window.
With the gargantuan momentum the Reds have amassed from winning the Champions League in Madrid, Mills feels Jürgen Klopp will have to make moves in the market to keep rolling forwards.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Mills posed: “Mbappe is clearly an immense talent, but what’s Mbappe going to cost you?”
“Wow, realistically, £200million, maybe more. Are Liverpool really going to pay that amount for Kylian Mbappe? I know he’s very, very young but I don’t see that happening, certainly not at that price?
“I don’t think they need a marquee signing but I certainly think they have to spend because if you stand still you go backwards. Klopp has come out and said we need to spend some money to move on and go to the next level.
“They’ve still got to beyond Manchester City to rip that first title for 30 years away from them. If you want to move forward, they’ve got to add two or three quality squad players.”
If you think I’m going to believe a retweet from Paul Joyce and unreliable rumours going around that Liverpool are going to sign Mbappe, then you’re absolutely right.

Mills is absolutely right to suggest the Reds are unlikely to fork out £200 million for the 20-year-old.
Of course, with 39 goals for PSG in the season just gone, Mbappé is one of Europe’s most deadly finishers and he would walk into any team right now.
But, our front three scored 69 goals between them in all competitions in the 2018/19 season and, despite, his lethal abilities up front, Mbappé is still absolutely a luxury signing.
We’ve got one of the most fearsome attacking tridents in Europe and the addition of Mbappé remains a pipe dream.
