French media outlet make huge Reds transfer claim

Liverpool are prepared to forgive Philippe Coutinho and bring him back to Anfield, according to reports in France.

Le10Sport (via The Mirror) claim that the Reds have ‘softened’ feelings towards the Brazilian, who has already confirmed he will turn down Manchester United if they move for him, and that Jurgen Klopp would be prepared to bring him back.

Coutinho’s dream move to Spain quickly turned into a nightmare, including being booed by his own fans at times at the Camp Nou, and he may well leave the Catalans this summer, but it is fairly difficult to imagine him back on Merseyside, as much as he clearly still has world-class ability.

Quite how Franch media would be in the know on this one is difficult to unpick as well.

Since he departed, the Reds have gone up a level, and the amount of money it would take to re-sign him from Barcelona makes it unlikely that a transfer will happen – not that we’d be against it.

A switch to PSG – perhaps as part of any deal that would see Neymar go back to the La Liga champions – seems the most likely outcome at this stage, while Coutinho might also decide to stick around for another season to see if his fortunes can be turned around.
