City linked with £90m La Liga ace as Guardiola refuses to stand still

Manchester City have been told by Barcelona that it’ll cost the entirety of Nelson Semedo’s £90m release-clause to acquire the fullback.

This is according to Spanish outlet Sport, who suggest Pep Guardiola is keen on signing a right-back before the transfer window closes in nine days’ time.

City currently have Kyle Walker as their starter in this position, with Danilo as backup – which is £80m worth of talent vying for one position.

For this reason, we find it pretty crazy that they’d consider spending an enormous amount on a rotation defender – but at the end of the day – that’s what Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are competing with right now.

We’ve decided not to by any first-team players this summer, despite losing Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno on Bosmans.

The reason for this has been explained in length by EOTK and Mo Chatra, and we’d advise you to check out both pieces!

As Reds, it’s our job to fully support the ideas of the club, management, and our many exceptional players.

We can never spend more than City on fees or wages, so we have to build a core side, at the right age (which they are) and look to bring through younger players (like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Rhian Brewster and Joe Gomez) at the same time.
