Liverpool won their first match in weeks last night against Lyon – and everything seems good again!
We’ve got the Community Shield to focus on this Sunday, then the Premier League the following Friday, with a home game against Norwich at Anfield.
But all the focus, especially online, after and during the victory, was on youngster Harvey Elliott.

The 16-year-old’s cameo was utterly assured and saw him trend on Twitter during the game. He’s been making headlines for the enormous tribunal fee Fulham are demanding and also some silly videos he’s featured in – but we’d prefer to just focus on his footballing ability.
Below, you’ll see a compilation of his touches against the French giants. What we like about him is that he doesn’t feel the need to force it. He isn’t trying to impress anybody – he’s just playing football, making correct decisions and trusting in his own ability.
His two moments of creativity were a 30-yard shot and a dribble in the box – and it won’t be long before moments like start paying off.
Elliott could well be a serious, serious player for Liverpool. Probably not season, but at some point down the line, certainly.
