Gary Neville says he can ‘guarantee’ that Reds forward Mo Salah will not be at the club in 12 month’s time.
Having already made an incredibly bold claim about the Reds’ Premier League title chances in comparison to Manchester United’s, Neville was not finished there, as he claimed with some certainty that Salah will shortly be leaving Merseyside.
Quite where the Egyptian would head to, it’s not clear. He only committed to a new long-term deal last year and has repeatedly said he is happy at Anfield. It would take an absolutely colossal offer for the Reds to even bother responding.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville said: “Salah’s going to leave in the next 12 months – I can see it already. Salah will leave. He will.
“I absolutely guarantee it. I can see it, you can feel it, you can smell it.”
Even if Neville was right, and Salah was to depart, the Reds have shown over the last few seasons that recruitment is no longer a problem.
Losing the Egyptian is not something we want to have to comprehend in the slightest, but if he was to somehow have his head turned, Jurgen Klopp would spend the enormous transfer fee wisely on a replacement. It’s hardly likely to come to that, though.
