Can’t you just stay forever, Jurgen?!
Sadly, at some stage, Klopp will depart Anfield – and following Liverpool will seem a little less fun.
But we hope it’s not for a very, very long time – preferably after he’s collected a Premier League title for his hard work.
The German himself though has claimed he could be done in the next two years – which is far too soon for our liking!
“I hope to continue like this, but in two, three years I don’t know what can happen. Maybe I’ll retire,” he told SportBild, cited by Di Marzio.
“It doesn’t necessarily happen, however, if that were the case, you wouldn’t be surprised…”
Life without Klopp doesn’t bear thinking about just yet – especially after the years of mediocrity that followed Rafa Benitez’s departure.
This current team that Klopp has built will now play under his guidance during their peaks – and we’ll likely have a serious rebuild on our hands once the likes of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane hit 30 and the boss feels his time is up.
However, it’s probably wise not to worry about all that just yet! And instead, simply enjoy the wonderful journey we’re all on under his leadership.
