LFC receive massive injury boost ahead of Chelsea tie

Naby Keita is back in full training with his Liverpool team-mates.

The Guinean hasn’t played a minute of football this term, having missed most of pre-season and then injuring himself before the European Super Cup with Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp today confirmed during a press-conference that the midfielder will join in the first-team session at Melwood today.

‘Naby Keita is back in training with the team. Today is first time with the team,’ Klopp told the Daily Mail.

We don’t imagine we’ll see Keita on the bench for the Chelsea tie this Sunday, but next week’s EFL Cup game with MK Dons could be perfect for his return…

Klopp will be fielding a mixed XI, allowing the likes of Adam Lallana, Xherdan Shaqiri and Dejan Lovren game-time – and we very much hope Keita gets a start.

Talent wise, he’s potentially one of our best players, but has simply not been able to show it consistently since his 2018 switch from Rb Leipzig.

Hopefully once he gets in the side, he can stay fit and perform to a level he’s capable of.
