Jurgen Klopp gave a fairly stern answer when questioned about the potential date of Liverpool’s EFL Cup quarterfinal clash.
At the moment, it’s due for the week in December we’re in Doha for the Club World Championship – a month we’re already due to play nine matches.
Obviously, we won’t be able to play it when we’re in the UAE – and Klopp sharply said the team would have to pull out unless an appropriate date is found by the FA, as reported by Andy Kelly of the Echo.
Klopp says the authorities have to find an appropriate day for LFC to play next round or his team will pull out and 'our opponents will progress'. Clash with World Club Cup.

There’s likely some part of Klopp that wouldn’t have minded exiting the EFL Cup tonight – not that he’d ever admit as much!
The EFL Cup is definitely the competition we least want to win – although we’d imagine Klopp will deploy a similar team of youngsters in the FA Cup as well.
In all honesty, Klopp has earned the right to do what he wants – and we’re not going to argue. The more trophies the better – but if we win a League Cup now, it won’t really matter in regards to his legacy in comparison to the Premier League and Champions League.
