Jurgen Klopp has taken aim at VAR this afternoon after the Reds were on the end of some frankly ludicrous decisions down at Villa Park against Dean Smith’s Aston Villa.
Roberto Firmino was incredibly unlucky to see his goal chalked off in the first period, while the host’s opening goal looked on first viewing to be offside.
In the end, the Reds got the job done and the three points were earned the hard way – and with that in mind, Klopp took the chance to take aim at the Premier League.
Klopp on VAR: What's the armpit?!
It's not to laugh about. Managers get sacked for losing football games. It needs to be clarified.
We need to make sure the new system helps the game.

Had he said the same thing after a loss, the criticism would have flown his way, but with a win, he could get away with it.
The full explanation from the Premier League, including that nonsense about the armpit, can be read by clicking here.
The Reds face Manchester City in the Premier League next Sunday – hopefully with a few less VAR controversies involved. That should be a momentous occasion whatever the result, and it would be a massive shame to see refereeing decisions overshadow it.
