Sadio Mane ‘loves’ Jurgen Klopp… but ‘fears’ him too

Sadio Mane has explained his relationship with Jurgen Klopp – who he has labelled a ‘great’ man.

The Senegalese winger is enjoying another phenomenal run of form, having scored ten goals already this term – including the wonderful winner v Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon that enabled us to maintain our six point lead over Manchester City.

Klopp trusts Mane implicitly – and is happy to use the no.10 anywhere across the frontline: left, right or central.

There was a time when Liverpool were accused of relying too heavily on Mo Salah, but now Mane is arguably our most important attacker – largely thanks to Klopp’s guidance.

“His secret, I think, is to be the team’s dad. Between us, everything clicked straight away,” Mane told France Football, (cited by the Mirror).

“We all love him like a father and we fear him like one too.

“He takes up a lot of space in my life, and not just in football. He’s great as a person. I trust him blindly, like most of the dressing room, I think.”

Right now, the atmosphere at the club between players, management and fans is as positive as we can remember at any time in Liverpool’s recent history.

Klopp has basically improved every player in the first-team squad – bar perhaps Naby Keita – who as of yet hasn’t shown the level he was capable of in Germany.

And we still have high hopes for the Guinean, who just needs a run in the team.

As long as Klopp is our manager, Liverpool are going to be competing for the highest honours – especially with world-class talent such as Mane doing the business week in, week out.
