Robertson’s ‘I’ve not trained at all for Liverpool,’ comments make form all the more spectacular

Andy Robertson has pulled out of Scotland’s squad for the international break and will remain at Melwood doing his rehab.

The Scot has been playing through an injury for all of November, in fact, which makes his outstanding performances all the more impressive.

His assist for Mo Salah’s goal on Sunday v Manchester City was genuinely stunning, but Robbo was capable of producing such goods without even training alongside his team-mates.

“It’s a big disappointment for me to miss out,” Robertson told the Mail. “I don’t care what game it is, I want to play and my track record in the last five years has shown that.

“But for the last two and a half weeks, I’ve not trained at all for Liverpool. I’ve trained the day before a game, could only play the last 15 minutes against Genk in the Champions League and missed the Arsenal game in the League Cup.”

Hopefully a fortnight’s recovery will see the world’s best left-back ready for Liverpool’s next fixture, which is away to Crystal Palace on November 23…

Now we’ve established an eight point lead at the top of the Premier League table, it’s essential we keep up our incredible form to dishearten the chasing pack.

If we can stretch the gap between ourselves and the rest, we’ll have some leeway for a few poor results over the festive period and January, which with the fixture congestion, are inevitable.
