Given the moment, this could arguably be Daniel Sturridge’s finest Liverpool goal yet.
The striker has given us a half-time lead over Sevilla in tonight’s Europa League final with a truly majestic strike with the outside of his deadly left foot. This is why he is so special.

Sevilla’s approach to the game meant that it had previously been a cagey affair. A moment of magic was needed to bring it to life, and my word did Sturridge come up with it after 35 minutes.
Every game that we miss him through injury is worth it when he can produce something like this, at such an important time. That is such a hard skill, and Sturridge makes it look absolutely effortless.
If this is the goal that wins us the trophy, then it is certainly worth the honour.
