‘Reds almost certain to ask question’ – Echo updates LFC Fans on midfield transfer news

The Liverpool Echo claims that while the club are ‘almost certain to ask a question’ about acquiring Naby Keita early, it remains unlikely.

Yesterday, fans began speculating over whether the Guinean will sign in the winter transfer window rather than next summer as agreed, due to some problems he’s having in Germany.

Rb Leipzig are said to be unhappy with some of his off-field antics since he agreed to a future Liverpool transfer – and were unimpressed by his decision to wear a red suit to their game at the weekend – for which he was suspended.

However, the Echo says that even if Rb are knocked out of the Champions League early, they’ll have ambitions for as high a Bundesliga finish as possible and therefore will want to keep the 22-year-old regardless of European progression.

Liverpool are free to negotiate an early release, but it’ll be costly and likely only something Rb will allow if Keita becomes a real nuisance.

He’s not there yet and is still their best player by some distance.
