Klopp passionately defends Lovren with iPhone analogy

Naturally, Jurgen Klopp was asked about Dejan Lovren during today’s press-conference ahead of the Huddersfield game at Anfield tomorrow.

We currently sit ninth having conceded 16 goals in nine games, with many fans suggesting the Croatian defender is the most culpable in the backline.

Klopp has never shared those views though, and today, actively supported the defender, despite claiming he could have done better ‘in trainers’ against Spurs last weekend.

Melissa Reddy has shared the quotes via her Twitter account:

For Klopp, the kind of fans who abuse the centre-back online and the pundits that call him on a weekly basis are the kind of people who film car crashes rather than getting out to help.

He’s a helper – and that’s what he plans on doing with Lovren.

Many would argue, of course, that the manager’s job is to help Liverpool and that would be done by signing a replacement.

But Klopp is a loyal manager and a good person, and he’s going to do it his way.
Whether it works or not, remains to be seen.
