Klopp hints at team selection that will excite Reds massively

Just as we hoped, it looks like Fabinho will start tonight against Red Star in the Champions League.

Fans have been waiting for this moment ever since the anchorman arrived at the start of June, but it’s been a long time in coming.

The Brazilian has barely played this season, with Jurgen Klopp preferring Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum as options in holding midfield – but with the skipper injured – it seems the natural time to bring Fabinho in.

Our summer signing turned 25 yesterday and Klopp reckons he deserves his chance.

“Yes, it’s clear. It’s his birthday by the way. So it would be a nice present, eh?” Klopp told journalists at the pre-game press-conference, including Dave Maddock of the Mirror.

“It’s got better and better from him and now it’s good. I didn’t decide how we will start but of course it is very important for us he’s here for a few months already, got used to a few things… so we will use him.”

We reckon Wijnaldum is a guaranteed starter as well, with one of Adam Lallana, James Milner or Xherdan Shaqiri set to take the spot in the midfield three.

That will provide us plenty of creativity and solidity in the middle, with a front-three of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino hopefully ready to finish their chances.

It’s vital we beat Red Star both at Anfield and in the away leg if we’re to qualify as one of the top two sides, considering our defeat to Napoli last time out.
