Roy’s future decided by Mortal Kombat [video] Posted by Antoine Zammit December 18, 2010 Follow @azammit Looks like our Redmen friends are bored without footie today :-) Share this: Share Twitter 6 responses to “Roy’s future decided by Mortal Kombat [video]” I am reading a book about the JFK conspiracy and you could have easily replaced his name with that of Rafa Benitez. You could easily replace LBJ’s name with Roy Hodgson. Rafa was crucified for zonal marking by the ‘ENGLISH’ press. Yet we always had one of the top defences in the league. And Reina won so many awards for his goalkeeping. Rafa never had Liverpool with a NEGATIVE goal difference. Under Hodgson we are now mid table with a NEGATIVE GOAL DIFFERENCE. Yet I still havent heard the ENGLISH press go off about man marking. Hodgson has rotated the team so much, and a whole lot more than Rafa for the Europe League, but it is labelled as good man management. Yet under Rafa he was continually crucified by the ENGLISH press for ‘ROTATION’. To appoint a manager with one of the worst away records in ENGLISH FOOTBALL HISTORY, to replace a manager who took us to two CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINALS in three years is utterly shocking. And to do it on a far inferior budget than Chelsea and Man U at the same time is even worse. That he had to suffer at the hands of Gillette and Hicks who made sure that Rafa rarely was able to spend any of the hard earned money in the Champions League as it went towards interest payments, makes me hang my head in shame. And the fact he took us above 80 points on a number of occassions in the league, and so many fans were taken in by the personal vendetta by the ENGLISH press also makes me hang my head in shame. I actually spoke to one of the Rafa haters the other week in my home town of Sydney Australia. And he actually had the nerve to say that Roy is doing a better job than Rafa. He was born in Glasgow…. but has family from Liverpool….an Anglo. And that really summed it up. So many fans just want an Englishman in charge of the club, no matter how shocking his record is. We had the worst start to a season in 100 years. The worst away record in years, the worst performances in years, yet all the ENGLISH pundits say he needs time. They didnt say this about Rafa. We couldnt even give him a farewell press conference. Shame. So many people talk about what Shankly did for the club. In today’s world Shankly wouldnt survive three years in management. We have become Newcastle (no offence to them but they understand what I mean). And that is why we are burning now. The on ly press I read is from the Liverpool Fan sites, and the Liverpool Echo and Post. The rest have a vendetta against the club and the minute they can smell success, the vendetta will start again. Anyone who cant see this is utterly blind. eder- completely agree with you about the media being really aggressive towards rafa but saying nearly nothing about roy. another thing about rafa is that he was never satisfied with a team performance in which we lose pathetically against a midtable-lower table team. Plus, roy is only playing the english boys for the most part. i am sure pacheco and suso are better than eccleston yet where r they??? well said eder. It definitely feels like someone doesn’t want us to succeed. Its Probably the same people who lobbied for the war in Iraq ;-). Keep telling the people they need it….. until the people believe they need it. Well said Eder! Spot on. unfortunately, lfc’s got NESV who have done absolutely nothig to improve the lot of the club. they appoint comoli when thompson or alex miller would have been a better option + they’ve refused to SACK hodgson which to me is a mortal sin. the man is the 2nd biggest mistake in lfc history after H+G This is an outrage! I never lost a fight as Scorpio!
