Striker set to miss his expected return versus Crystal Palace…

In devastating news to Liverpool fans and the player himself, Daniel Sturridge has injured his thigh in training, reports BBC Sport.

The 25-year-old has been out for well over two months already, having already missed his original return date after aggravating a thigh strain picked up on international duty with England.

Sturridge was supposed to return for us to face Crystal Palace following the international break, but he’ll now miss the away trip to London, and there’s no word yet on his next predicted return date.

We’ve only won four out of 14 matches since the forward last turned out for us, and and have only scored 14 times in that run too – with Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini failing to notch a goal between them.

Sturridge scored 25 times in all competitions last term, but has only turned out three times so far this campaign.
