Daniel Sturridge injury: Striker to spend Christmas with members of Boston Red Sox medical staff

Superstar forward heading back to America for further treatment…

In the next stage of his rehabilitation from the thigh injury that has kept him out of action for nearly the entire season, Daniel Sturridge will travel to America to see medical experts who work for the Boston Red Sox, reports the Telegraph.

Liverpool owners FSG of course own Boston Red Sox, and have asked our head of performance Glen Driscoll to accompany Sturridge on the trip to visit the baseball giant’s medical specialists.

The 25-year-old striker hasn’t played since August, having injuring himself while on international duty with England, and missing return dates of two scheduled comebacks.

We all know how badly we’ve missed the dynamite forward, whose pace, skill and finishing played a huge role in what was so almost title success in 2013/14.

Hopefully the trip to Boston will do him good, and Sturridge will be back firing on all cylinders at the turn of the new year.
