The last time Jamie Carragher was in Istanbul, he witnessed Liverpool win a penalty shoot-out, but he was quick to stick the boot in on Dejan Lovren last night, who missed the crucial spot-kick to send us crashing out of the Europa League.
Carragher went back to find an archived Lovren tweet from before he was even a Liverpool player, which stated ‘I’m sorry’. You can read the now Sky Pundit’s rather sarcastic response below…
Carragher has missed a penalty in a shoot-out, and we can’t imagine he’d have taken to it too kindly if a former pro had immediately started mocking him on social media…
He’s since deleted this, but the damage was done.
