Suarez, who scored 31 goals last season, left Liverpool for Barcelona in a £75m deal last summer, while Gerrard will quit the club at the end of the season in order to join LA Galaxy.

According to Sterling, the departures have left the Reds weaker. The 20-year-old forward is, according to the Daily Mirror, in the midst of a long standing ‘contract wrangle’, and these latest comments will sadly come as a further indication of his desire to move on in the summer transfer window.

He told reporters: “You really want to be working with world-class players day in, day out. It’s obviously left a little dent, these two world-class superstars leaving.”

Sterling has already been offered a new deal worth around £100,000-per-week, claims the report, a huge increase on his current £35,000-per-week package, but there is no real indication as to what wage he will accept, if any.
