Philippe Coutinho leads the list of nominations, with three of his fantastic strikes making onto the shortlist, whilst midfielders Jordan Henderson and Steven Gerrard have two goals each on the list.

Here is the full rundown of the contenders:

Alberto Moreno vs Tottenham (August)

The Spaniard won the ball on the halfway line, before running the length of the half and unleashing a drilled shot across Hugo Lloris that sealed a 3-0 win at White Hart Lane.

Jordan Rossiter vs Middlesbrough (September)

The 17-year-old announced himself to our first-team with a controlled finish during the thrilling Capital One Cup tie with Middlesbrough. A save from the goalkeeper saw the ball fly out to the midfielder, who calmly returns it into the back of the net from nearly 30 yards.
