Liverpool took the lead in their Premier League clash with Queens Park Rangers, thanks to a wonderful finish from the Brazilian maestro Philippe Coutinho.
The goal came as Rickie Lambert ran down the right-hand side, before cutting back inside and finding Coutinho, who was free towards the back post.
The 22-year-old’s first touch was perhaps not his best, as it allowed the defenders a chance to close him down or get back towards the line. However, Coutinho still managed to curl a great effort into the far corner, giving Rob Green no chance.
The strike may have come as a relief to Brendan Rodgers, who will probably have been aware of the banner that flew over the stadium pre-match…
