The Metro strikes again… Carlos Tevez stupidly tipped to make Liverpool switch

First it was Andrea Pirlo, now it’s Carlos Tevez. Apparently, The Metro would have us believe that we can hand-pick players from the Champions League finalists, who beat Real Madrid 3-2 on aggregate on Wednesday night.

We all know that the Reds are crying out for some fresh inspiration up front but this one looks unlikely to say the least. There is simply no way that the Italian champions are going to sell their prize asset, let alone to us.

Tevez has scored 29 goals in all competitions this season, guiding Juventus to a fourth straight league title. He’s also netted an impressive 50 times in total since moving from Manchester City in 2013.

There’s little doubting the ability of the Argentine international, but considering the drama he inevitably seems to create at every club he plays for… West Ham, Manchester United, and City, it’s hard to see the Reds being interested even if he were available. He’s 31 now and heading towards the latter stages of his career, so any move would be very un-Brendan Rodgers like to say the least.

So where have The Metro actually got this one from? Well, they claim that Juventus are close to a deal for Paulo Bruno Dybala, the exciting young forward who currently playing for Palermo. While they add that Tevez’s ‘Suarez-esque’ work-rate is enough to make Rodgers go against his normal transfer policy.

Clearly they never saw Tevez during the latter stages of his Manchester City career… An amusing, if totally ridiculous story.
