According to the claim, Bayern boss Pep Guardiola is willing to part with Alonso, despite the 33-year-old’s importance to the side this Bundesliga season.

Alonso only moved from Real Madrid last summer, but was unable to stop Barcelona in the European Cup semi-finals, and Juve boss Max Allegri wants to offer him the chance to test out the Italian league before he ends his wonderful career.

Allegri recognises Alonso as the perfect deep-lying playmaker option if Pirlo leaves, as has been strongly mooted in the Metro

Pirlo’s contract is up in 2016, but it’s being hinted that after his fourth successive Serie A title, he’s ready for a new challenge – one we can provide upon Steven Gerrard’s MLS departure..

So this summer could see a true merry-go-round of world football’s best midfielders over the past decade… Gerrard to La Galaxy, Pirlo to Liverpool and Alonso to Juventus!
