Roy Hodgson is maybe the worst Liverpool manager in history.
He was utterly rubbish and will forever be remembered for bringing Christian Poulsen and Paul Konchesky to the club!
But way before he undid much of Rafa Benitez’s good work, Hodgson had a job at Inter Milan.
He failed there too, and a story about the Englishman is today circling from Italian midfielder’s Andrea Pirlo book…
“Roy Hodgson kept mispronouncing my name,” Pirlo wrote in his autobiography, cited here by MatchDayFootball. “He called me Pirla (a term used in Milan dialect roughly translated as dickhead), perhaps understanding my true nature more than the other managers.”
The manager is now in charge of Crystal Palace, who have lose seven consecutive Premier League matches without scoring a goal.
It’s comfortably the worst start to a campaign ever in the top flight!
And this is with former Liverpool players Christian Benteke and Mamadou Sakho in their ranks…
They next face Chelsea, so it’s unlikely the rut will end soon.
Pirlo on the other hand has just announced his retirement date.
The legendary Italian will hang up his boots in December at the end of the MLS season.
What a career it’s been!
