Analysing six Champions League finalists who Liverpool should move for this summer

Posted by

Pedro (Barcelona)

Why it could work: He might just have signed a new contract but he’s still down the pecking order at the Camp Nou and will probably have to make do with a spot on the bench tonight. To be fair, it must be hard to compete with Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez. Could missing out tonight make him reconsider his future?

How he could fit: A top class forward who would add an extra dimension to our attack. If Raheem Sterling is to leave us this summer then the World Cup winner would be the ideal replacement.

What do the papers say: Unsurprisingly, the Daily Mirror is unsure on this one following his new deal.

Arturo Vidal (Juventus)

Why it could work: Juventus are blessed with a host of world class midfielders. The rumours about Vidal’s potential departure refuse to go away and it seems as if the Chilean really could be on his way.

How he could fit: He’d be the dream replacement for the departing Steven Gerrard. The prospect of combining him with Jordan Henderson and James Milner would make us look a real force again.

What do the papers say: The Daily Star aren’t impressed – but well know that by tomorrow they’ll probably have changed their mind. This one seems optimistic but it’s something that’s worth keeping an eye on.
