(Video) Daniel Sturridge continues encouraging training ground comeback

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is seemingly closing in on a return to Merseyside, having all but completed his injury rehabilitation in the United States.

The 25-year-old, who has been very active on social media over the last few days, published another video to his YouTube account on Wednesday. The footage shows the England international running, passing and scoring past a rather unfortunate goalkeeper, who’s unlikely to have had much luck stopping the returning centre-forward.

Sturridge also sent this particularly encouraging tweet, hinting at his imminent return to Melwood. We learned earlier this month that the player was due back in training with his teammates soon – and if the Daily Express is to be believed, that return date could be as early as the end of this week.

The player also appears to be well on course to meet his desired first-team return date – currently pencilled in as the game against Manchester United on September 12.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
