Sky Sports have today released their own set of power rankings, marking out the top fifty players in the top flight.
Their rankings are, according to their website, based purely on statistics and award players points for a wide array of in-game actions, from scoring goals to making tackles and completing passes, and indicate which Premier League players are the most in form.

It should all make pleasant reading for Liverpool fans, with seven of our players included in the top 50. Only Manchester City (10) have more – Manchester United have just four, Chelsea only one and Arsenal have none.
Simon Mignolet was our highest ranked player – scoring fourth place after keeping three consecutive clean sheets to start the season – while teenage full-back Joe Gomez made it into sixth place.
Gomez’s fellow defenders all made the list. Martin Skrtel was 12th, Dejan Lovren 18th and Nathaniel Clyne 20th.
Our two goalscorers so far this season – Christian Benteke and Philippe Coutinho – came 16th and 36th respectively.
Keep up the good work boys!
