Liverpool tracking Polish star Piotr Zielinski

Talented 21-year-old Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski is very much on Liverpool’s shortlist, reports the Guardian.

They claim we’re tracking the starlet, whose been capped 11 times by his country, ahead of a possible summer move.

Zielinski is currently on loan at Empoli from Udinese in Serie A, where he’s now been on a temporary deal for 18 months.

He’s been a fixture for Empoli this term, registering two goals and four assists from 19 appearances so far.

Zielinski likes to run through the middle of the pitch with the ball, and prides himself on feeding his attackers with through-balls. He’s physically quite slight though, and would have to bulk up to handle himself in the Premier League

Young Serb Marko Grujic is already arriving in the summer at Liverpool, but with our problems in central midfield this term – it’s possible that Jurgen Klopp will go after another player for this position as well.

Zielinski, while showing real promise, isn’t the finished article yet and would not get in our team anyway. Surely we should be saving our transfer funds for guaranteed first-team starters?
