Jordan Rossiter nearing return from injury

Posted by

Jordan Rossiter is hoping to be back in first team contention before the end of the month, according to the Echo.

He has been sidelined since picking up a hamstring injury (surprise, surprise!) at the start of December against Sion in the Europa League. It was his second hamstring injury of the season – he picked up his first while on England duty with their U18 side.

Given he is out of contract in the summer, he will presumably be desperate to get back amongst the seniors and prove to Klopp that he is deserving of a renewal. He has only made one appearance since the German’s arrival.

“It’s progressing well at the moment,” he said. “I think I’ve been out around eight weeks now, but I’m hopefully looking to be running around the next two weeks.”

“It’s been frustrating but hopefully there are better things to come soon and I get a bit of luck.”

“It’s great to see and everybody’s playing well when they’ve had the chance – the likes of Cameron Brannagan, Connor Randall, Kevin Stewart, it’s great.”

“I know my chance is there when I do get back.”

Would you give the boy a new deal? Let us know in the comments.
