Jordan Rossiter has ended his 13 year stay at Liverpool, and today thanked all the coaching staff for their role in his development.
The 19-year-old made a first-team debut under Brendan Rodgers, and it looked for all the world like he would develop into a regular member of the squad, but injuries stunted his progression, and under Jurgen Klopp, he’s not had a look in.
The German has preferred to give youngsters such as Pedro Chirivella, Cameron Brannagan and Kevin Stewart a chance instead.
As a result, Rossiter’s contract was not renewed, and the Scots have snapped him up on a bargain tribunal fee.
Rossiter has a great heart and attitude, but perhaps lacks the physical strength and technique to dominate Premier League midfields any time soon.
We’re pleased the player has a positive move, and wish him well in his new adventure north of the border.
Had a brilliant 13 years at Liverpool, thanks to all the staff an players at who have helped along the way 👍⚽️
