Liverpool possible XI v Crystal Palace: Klopp to drop City match winner

Predicting Liverpool’s side to face Crystal Palace is one of the hardest tasks of the season, considering Jurgen Klopp rested some names midweek – but his selected XI battered Manchester City 3-0…

Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge, widely recognised as Liverpool’s two best players, sat out, but will be chomping at the bit to get back in the team.

This means the boss has to decide whether to bring them in, and for who – considering the front-three that started against City (Lallana, Firmino and Origi) were superb.

But we’ll start at the back…

Simon Mignolet is a guaranteed starter, and so is Jon Flanagan for us following his wonderful defensive showing at right-back. This means Nathaniel Clyne should continue at left-back at Alberto Moreno’s expense. Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho are back in full training, but Kolo Toure and Dejan Lovren did so well at Anfield against Sergio Aguero we reckon they’ll keep their places.

The midfield three picks itself, with Emre Can holding and Jordan Henderson and James Milner in freer, box-to-box roles either side. Lucas is a long-term injury victim, but Joe Allen should take a spot on the bench.

Up top, we’re predicting that Coutinho and Sturridge WILL be brought back into the side. And it’ll be Adam Lallana who keeps his place having not played as many minutes as Roberto Firmino recently. This means the Brazilian could drop to the bench, which would be harsh considering his goal and assist against City. Origi did excellently too, but he’s a certainty to be withdrawn considering the options at Klopp’s disposal…

So here’s who we think the manager will go with.

Fair?
