Daniel Sturridge saved Roy Hodgson’s blushes – and possibly his job – when he bagged a beautifully taken winner in injury time against Wales on Wednesday.
After another poor 45 minutes from Spurs frontman Harry Kane, Hodgson threw on both Sturridge and Vardy for the second half.
England reaped the rewards, as Vardy cancelled out Gareth Bale’s opener before Sturridge nicked all three points.

That Sturridge goal today was class. Ball stuck to him like glue, never gave up and precise finish. You always need a little bit of luck.

Sturridge wasn’t great, but he made the first goal with the cross and then won the game with the second goal.
