We have just thrashed Fleetwood Town 5-0 in our second pre-season friendly.

A 5,254 crowd saw goals a first half goal from new Serbian signing Marko Grujic put us 1-0 up at the break, before a brace from Roberto Firmino, a rare Lucas Leiva strike, and a first senior goal for 16-year-old Ben Woodburn saw us emerge as easy winners.

The League One side – who have enjoyed a rapid rise through the divisions in the last decade – we ultimately out done by our superior skill and fitness, but gave a good account of themselves for long periods.

Once again, it was the young stars who stole the show. Marko Grujic, Ovie Ejaria, Woodburn, and Ryan Kent were particularly impressive.

Woodburn grabbed two assists as well as his goal, while Kent also bagged an assist and Ejaria built upon his impressive display against Tranmere last week.

Next up for Liverpool is a friendly against Wigan on Sunday.
