Long-term Liverpool target Piotr Zielinski has reportedly decided on his future, with ourselves and AC Milan battling for his signature.

The player’s agent, Bartolomej Bolek, told La Gazzetta dello Sport “We’ve decided, but it’s a secret.”

He claims he met with Udinese’s owner Giampaolo Pozzo today and was aware there had been many offers, but they only wanted what was best for the player:

“I met owner Pozzo,” he said.

“We are trying to find the best solution both for the club and the player. We’ll see what happens next week.

“After the Euros he went on vacation, as he needed to rest after a long season. He will return to Udinese on July 22 or 23.

“It’s true [that Liverpool have been tracking the player for a long time] but I don’t like to talk about negotiations in the papers.” (translated via Express)

If the story turns out to be true, does this spell the end for Joe Allen? With Henderson, Can, Grujic, Lucas, and possibly Zielinski, it’s hard to see how or where he would get serious game time, especially with no European football this season.

22-year-old Zielinski has 16 caps and three goals for the Polish national side and played 35 games and scored five goals while on loan at Empoli last season.
