Daniel Sturridge returned to training today.

According to SkySports, it was the first time he’s taken part in a session since injuring his hip before last weekend’s friendly double-header against Barcelona and Mainz.

He did not, however, train with the rest of the first-team squad – instead doing to individual work by himself.

Klopp has previously said he has no idea whether or not Sturridge will be fit for the weekend’s Premier League opener in North London against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

Sturridge, who is now 26, played in just 14 Premier League games last season and 12 the year before. Despite that, he still managed to end last season with eight league goals and 13 across all competitions.

According to the SkySports article, this is his 21st reported injury since signing for the club back in 2013.

Kick-off against the Gunners is at 4pm BST.
