Liverpool manager says Yellow Wall better than Kop; but Anfield gave him greatest moment

Borussia Dortmund have the highest average attendance of any side in Europe and the biggest single tier stand on the continent as well – so Liverpool fans should by no means find this offensive…

Jurgen Klopp says that nothing can match up to his old club’s famous ‘Yellow Wall’, the iconic part of the Westfalenstadion which homes the noisiest and most raucous BVB fans.

Not even Anfield’s Kop, easily the most famous stand anywhere in England.

“It’s different, there’s nothing compared to the Yellow Wall though. There are 27 thousand people who stand,” Klopp said, before explaining that it was actually Anfield that provided the biggest push during a game – ironically against Dortmund in the Europa League last season.

“The Kop gave me the best half hour of football [against Borussia Dortmund last season] though. It was the best I ever had,” he said, reported in the Mirror.

Time and time again Klopp has made pleas to our fans to increase noise levels and show continued support rather than frustration when it’s not going so well, however.

The results and the brilliant performances he’s provided us since his arrival deserve this at the very least. There’ll be times this campaign where the team needs a lift and Anfield’s backing could be the difference between no points and one, or one point and three.

It’s going to be tight this season; there’s just too many good sides competing for the top four – so we, as a team and fanbase, need to be at our best every week. Who knows, perhaps Klopp will one day change his mind!
