(Video) Sakho scores for Liverpool U23s after weirdly hovering in the box during buildup play

Mamadou Sakho opened the scoring in Liverpool Under-23’s 2-0 victory against Reading at the weekend.

The 26-year-old, who’s been completely frozen out of the first-team by Jurgen Klopp, starts at back for what’s essentially our Reserve Team, alongside Tiago Ilori, the defender who also signed for Liverpool in 2013.

At the time, Brendan Rodgers said he’d fixed our defence for the next ten years (via ESPN). Three years later, the pair are surplus to requirements and available for transfer.

Sakho was playing at centre-back, but when you see the clip, you’ll see him making a bursting run into the opposition penalty area during open play. The ball runs to him and he finishes, but it’s a completely unnatural spot for a defender to be – isn’t it?

If this isn’t a sign of a player monumentally frustrated, we don’t know what is – but fair play to the Frenchman for scoring!

Expect Sakho to join a club on loan in January, now he’s come to accept Klopp wasn’t gesturing in the summer when he told him to find a new club.
