‘Late night worth it’- fans unite to celebrate record breaking goal at Anfield

Jurgen Klopp might have called for a low profile when it comes to discussing Ben Woodburn, but there is little chance of that happening after the youngster’s record breaking night at Anfield.

The teenager’s goal against Leeds last night meant he surpassed Michael Owen to become Liverpool’s youngest ever scorer at the age of 17 years and 45 days. There is little chance of keeping a lid on an achievement as remarkable as that.

Of course it is too early to get carried away and of course it would be wrong to put too much pressure on the young man, but we can all agree that it is only right we celebrate such an incredible accomplishment.

His presence and rise to fame alone has given the entire club a significant yet subtle lift. Only Liverpool fans have been aware of Woodburn’s promise, and we would like to keep it that way.

Fans have taken to Twitter to pay tribute to a special night for the Cheshire-born star.
