Carra joins in the fun as Gary Neville bites back in war of words with Karius

If ever there was a way of getting Liverpool fans on side, then Loris Karius snubbing criticism from Gary Neville but accepting it from Jamie Carragher has done just that.

As much as we like seeing Liverpool players avoid responding to comments on their performances, it is great to see our goalkeeper sticking up for himself after a few tough days.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Karius said: “Carragher was here at Liverpool for a long time so maybe after the game he was a bit frustrated. He is probably still a supporter. I have to accept it.”

“And I don’t care what Gary Neville said. He was a top player, then he was a manager for a short bit and now he is back to being an expert again.”

“But he is always very critical. I think he does it to everyone. I just hope that when I do well he will comment on that. We will see in the future.”

There you have it, Gary Neville.

It didn’t end there though, with the former Manchester United man taking the bait and using Instagram to respond by mocking Karius for his acceptance of Jamie Carragher’s critical views of him.

It wasn’t long before Carragher himself resisted temptation and seized the opportunity to team up on Neville by taking to Twitter.

It’s nice to see that Karius has already bought into the Liverpool versus Manchester United rivalry.
