First real attack, first Liverpool goal.
What a start from the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp’s decision to start Adam Lallana further forward already looks to have paid off after the midfielder played provider to Georginio Wijnaldum’s early goal against Manchester City.
The Dutchman came flying in to latch onto his teammate’s perfectly placed cross before heading past Claudio Bravo in the City goal to put Klopp’s men 1-0 up inside 10 minutes. Now there’s the kind of goal-scoring midfielder we wanted Gini to be for us.
City have their warning. We are very good at attacking.
It’s still early days but so far so good. The opening 20 minutes have seen both sides pressing high and attacking whenever they get the chance so we can certainly expect more goals.
