(Video) Great movement as Dejan Lovren claims first ever Liverpool assist

Playing in his 41st Premier League game for Liverpool, Dejan Lovren provided his first ever assist on Monday afternoon as they Reds took the lead at Sunderland.

The Croatian centre-back displayed clever attacking movement to pull away from the penalty spot and find space from a corner kick.

He then worked the ball goalwards towards Daniel Sturridge who headed home like the world-class finisher he is.

While Lovren and Sturridge both displayed good movement, the same cannot be said of the Sunderland defenders, who stood like statues.

This was actually Lovren’s second ever Premier League assist. He made one in 31 matches for former club Southampton.
